1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms form an agreement between you and the person or organization operating this CoCal deployment (the “Operator”). By checking the agreement box and selecting “Accept and open CoCal,” you agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. If you do not agree, do not use CoCal; you can decline and sign out.
2. What CoCal provides
CoCal is a personal food-logging and general-wellness tool. It can analyze a meal photo, estimate food items, calories and macronutrients, let you edit the result, save a diary, log activities and calculate net calories, set optional targets, and share selected content using the visibility controls you choose.
3. Your account
- You sign in through Google and are responsible for protecting that account.
- Provide accurate information when it affects your estimates or targets.
- Use only your own account and tell the Operator if you suspect unauthorized access.
- CoCal may refuse or suspend access needed to protect users, the service, or applicable law.
4. Estimates are not medical advice
Photo-based calories, portions, macros, suggested targets, and other outputs are estimates. Hidden ingredients, cooking methods, portion depth, image quality, and AI errors can make them wrong. Review and edit results before relying on them.
Activity calorie-burn figures you enter may also be estimates. Wearables, exercise machines, and activity services can calculate them differently. Net calories are a simple subtraction of logged activity calories from logged food calories, not a medical assessment or a complete measure of energy needs.
CoCal does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or manage any disease and is not a substitute for a doctor, dietitian, or other qualified professional. Do not use CoCal for emergencies, medication decisions, eating-disorder treatment, pregnancy care, or any decision where an inaccurate estimate could cause harm.
5. Your content and sharing choices
You keep ownership of the photos, notes, captions, activity records, profile information, and other content you provide. You give the Operator a limited license to host, copy, process, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve CoCal and to provide the sharing choices you select.
Diary entries and profiles begin private. If you change an item to followers or public, you direct CoCal to show it to that audience. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use or content that exposes another person’s sensitive information without permission.
6. Acceptable use
You may not:
- use CoCal unlawfully, fraudulently, or to harm, harass, or impersonate anyone;
- upload malicious code or content that infringes another person’s rights;
- probe, bypass, disrupt, overload, scrape, or automate access to the service without permission;
- misrepresent an AI estimate as medical, clinical, or professionally verified advice; or
- use the service to build or train a competing system except where applicable law does not allow that restriction.
7. Availability and changes
CoCal is an early-stage service. Features may change, fail, or be unavailable, and no uninterrupted service level is promised. The Operator may update or discontinue features, while taking reasonable steps to avoid unnecessary loss of saved information. Connections to external services also depend on those services and may change, pause, or stop independently of CoCal.
8. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoCal is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that estimates are accurate, complete, safe for a particular purpose, or error-free. Nothing here excludes a warranty or consumer right that applicable law does not allow the Operator to exclude.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, or harm caused by relying on an estimate. Any liability that cannot legally be excluded remains limited only as far as applicable law permits.
9. Ending use
You may stop using CoCal and sign out at any time. The Operator may end or suspend access for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, a security threat, legal requirement, or discontinuation of the service. Provisions that by their nature should continue—such as ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—survive termination.
10. Updates, law, and contact
Material changes will receive a new effective date and may require you to accept again. Mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence still apply. Otherwise, applicable law and courts determine any dispute; the parties should first try to resolve it informally.
For a legal or support request, contact the CoCal Operator through the official channel from which you received access to this deployment. For data practices, read the Privacy Notice.
